Allied Dancing Association Ltd

WELCOME TO THE ALLIED DANCING ASSOCIATION LTD

The Allied Association Teachers of Dancing was inaugurated in 1921.

Professional Teachers from Merseyside amalgamated to create a uniform technique for Ballroom Dancing. The Association was a founder Member of the Official Board of Ballroom Dancing Limited, now known as the British Dance Council, and in co-operation with affiliated Associations created the basis of Ballroom Dancing as we know it today.

Fostered by our late president, Malcolm Monro, Merseyside became one of the largest centres for dancing outside London. Articled by Guarantee in 1944, Membership now extends throughout the world.

We now also proudly present the Allied Ballroom & Latin Championships, plus our Classical Sequence Inventive Dance day each year.

The Association also includes its Theatre Branch, and has many Theatre teachers throughout the country. Genres available include Ballet, Tap, and Modern Stage Grades, plus medals in numerous subjects including Acrobatic, Musical Theatre, Commercial, and Street Dance to name but a few.

We are a member of the Theatre Dance Council International, and present a week-end of TDCI Championships each year for Juveniles, Juniors, and Seniors in Ballet, Tap, Modern, and Song & Dance.

A full range of the ADA syllabus is available for teachers to purchase, plus DVD’s on our Ballet, Tap, and Modern Grades. We also have a booklet of the amalgamations and enchainments required for the Ballet, Tap, and Modern medal tests.

Altogether the association has grown so much and with Ballroom, Latin American, Classical Sequence, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, and Freestyle all amongst the many styles available, there is something for everyone at the ALLIED!
